Glossier Vinylic Lip Review & Swatches

Glossier Vinylic Lip

Everything you need to know about Glossier Vinylic Lip, plus swatches!

I haven’t had much motivation when it comes to an elaborate makeup routine in quarantine BUT my Glossier makeup has definitely come in handy for my video conference calls. I love a simple, fresh and dewy makeup look.

Glossier launched two new shades of Vinylic Lip, a high shine lip lacquer: Driver, a brick red, and Genius, a blush peach. Glossier sent me both shades at no cost to try prior to the launch because I’m a Glossier affiliate. I feel so special that they sent me this gift because I usually don’t receive gifted product from Glossier.

There are now 8 shades of Glossier Vinylic Lip:

Pony (dark taupe)
Baby (siren red)
Blow-Up (candy pink)
Casino (orange)
Disco (terracotta)
Bank (rich plum)
Driver (brick red)
Genius (blush peach)

The highly pigmented lip lacquer comes in a clickable pen so you can control the intensity with each application.

I currently already own Pony, Baby and Blow-Up. I’m a huge fan of Vinylic Lip. I love the cushiony, glossy lipstick formula and being able to layer as needed for a more opaque lip look. Wearing a matte lip can look so flaky an dry on my lips but Vinylic Lip is super moisturizing and makes my lips look so good—plump, shiny and healthy.

Pre-pandemic, Pony was my everyday go-to. It’s described on the website as a dark taupe but on my lips it looks more like a mauve nude and has a beautiful sheen to it. Baby and Blow-Up are super bright and I find myself not reaching for those, as often since you know, the only person I’m dressing up for is my living room.

When Drive and Genius arrived, I immediately put them both to the test. Genius is so gorgeous in person. A soft peach makes this a perfect everyday shade. It kind of reminds me of Pony, except minus the brown undertone. Driver, while darker in pigment, looks more flattering on my skin tone than I thought it would. I’m hoping I’ll get more use out of it during the fall season

I’ve swatched all the shades I currently have below so you can see a comparison of the five shades. For reference, I have fair skin with neutral undertones.

Update as of 2023: Vinylic Lip was discontinued but Glossier Ultralip is very similar in formula and pigment. As a Glossier affiliate, I do make a small commission if you purchase through my links. If you do, thank you so much!

Glossier gifted me two new shades (Driver and Genius) I featured in this blog post. All other Vinylic Lip shades were purchased with my own money. As always, all opinions are my own.
