Whether you’re looking for great scented lip balm you can reach for at any time or a bright pop of color, I’ve got the best Glossier lip products for summer.
Another day, another Glossier blog post. You’d think I have better things to blog about than Glossier makeup but Glossier just resonates with my makeup style. There isn’t a day that goes by that I don’t use at least one Glossier product. I’ve tried every Glossier makeup and skincare product and you can see my ultimate list of the best and worst products ranked here.
Here are my five best Glossier lip products for summer:
Balm Dotcom in Coconut or Mango
There are eight flavors of Balm Dotcom but when it comes to the summer season, Coconut is my everyday favorite. It’s a clear lip balm but smells like warm coconuts on the beach. As someone with extremely sensitive skin and chapped lips year round, Balm Dotcom is the perfect mixture of a balm that retains moisture long enough but isn’t sticky or heavy.
If Coconut is not your thing, Mango is nice alternative for summer. The tint is very subtle, a coral shade that leans more peach than pink and the scent is very sweet.
Ultralip in Villa
This has become my holy grail lip product. It combines the moisture of a balm, the sheen of a gloss and the buildable color of a lip tint (without the hassle of layering multiple products or using lip liner).
I own multiple shades of Ultralip – Lucite, Villa, Fête, Portrait, Cachet, and Coupe. Finding the best shade of Ultralip will be dependent on your natural lip color, skin tone and undertone. I have fair skin with neutral leaning cool undertones, and my lips are naturally rosy. I think Villa looks best on me for an everyday neutral but I also love Fête when I’m in the mood for a pop of color.
Generation G in Cake or Like
Ok so Gen G isn’t my holy grail compared to Ultralip or Balm Dotcom but in the summer, Gen G is won’t feel quite as drying on your lips compared to the winter.
I have the shades Cake (subtle peach) and Like (cool pink), both will pretty much look good with any makeup look. I love the matte look of Gen G but this formula can be a bit drying. In an effort to be less wasteful and to make use of the shades I’ve already purchased, I like to layer Gen G after I’ve applied a small dab of Original Balm Dotcom. Gen G applies smoother and doesn’t dry out my lips quite as bad.
Lip Gloss in Clear
I’ve always opted for lip gloss over a traditional tube of lipstick. Despite its stickiness, I just love the glass-like finish and how a couple of swipes instantly elevates my everyday makeup look.
They currently offer four shades of Lip Gloss – clear, holographic, red, and gold. Clear lip gloss is the OG – you can’t go wrong. In fact, it’s what I keep in my handbag at all times because you never know when you’ll need it.
