An update on my current summer makeup routine
Looking for an easy, effortless everyday summer makeup look? Here’s my quick 10-minute makeup routine.
Complexion
First, let’s talk primer. Primer is everything. I’ve been using my Supergoop Unseen Sunscreen as my primer (love the formula and the texture as it fills my pores).
I hate wearing foundation in the summertime so I alternate between a tinted moisturizer and ILIA Super Serum Skin Tint (I wear the shade Balos). Both have SPF as well so that’s a bonus. Both are very breathable formulas and it never feels like I’m wearing makeup but I will say I get more coverage with the ILIA Skin Tint.
I’ve tried a number of concealers this past year but I always go back to Stretch Concealer. I like that it doesn’t cake or crease and that it never feels heavy on my under eye area. I find that applying with my finger works best. From there, I’ll dust a small amount of setting powder under my eyes.
For years Cloud Paint has been my favorite cream blush and don’t get me wrong, it’s still something I reach for but the Tower 28 Tinted Balm in Magic Hour is a close second. It’s the perfect warm pinky/nude shade for summer. I like to swirl my ring finger in the pan to warm up the product and then I’ll dot it on my upper cheek bones and blend with a Real Techniques brush. For cream bronzer, I also like Tower 28 Bronzino (I have the lightest shade, Sun Coast) and wearing this with the cream blush gives me a shimmery highlight too.
Eyes
Not much has changed with my brow routine. I like them fluffy, dark and easy to groom into place so Boy Brow is still very much my go-to. For eyeshadow, I’m keeping things super simple and easy. Subtl Beauty launched a portable stack of gorgeous eyeshadow duos. If you’re not familiar, read my review on Subtl Beauty, I am loving this concept of portable makeup essentials! I tend to wear the Jelly duo the most, which is a matte dusty pink and a shimmery champagne. The eyeshadows are so easy to blend, no makeup artistry skills required! That’s why I love them.
For mascara, I am on my 3rd tube of Lash Slick. Lash Slick has been a long-time favorite—I always get nice, long, separated lashes. I like to take eyelash curler after I’ve applied mascara to help keep my lashes curled.
Lips
I’m still adjusting to the fact that I go out in public without a mask. Finally, we’re back to some level of normalcy! That said, I really enjoy wearing lip color again. I’ve been rotating all my Glossier Ultralip shades. Villa (dusty rose) is my favorite for everyday but I also love Portrait (cherry blossom pink) and Fete (watermelon red) for a pop of color. When I’m chilling working from home, I’ll coat my lips in my favorite Balm Dotcom in Coconut.
What makeup products are you loving right now for summer?

*Subtl Beauty eyeshadow duos were gifted to me but all other products mentioned I purchased with my own money.
Such a lovely assortment of products! Very comfortable for summer too. I’m on the fence on that CoverGirl foundation but agree — a primer makes all the differenc.e

Yeah, I’ve seen mixed reviews on the Covergirl foundation and the first few times I tried it using only a Priming Moisturizer and that was my biggest mistake. Paired with Supergoop it works really well! Thanks so much for reading! xo
