December Beauty Box 5 Review

It’s been a while pretties. Last week I dealt with a terrible cold and although I’m not quite 100 percent back to my cheery healthy self, I am feeling much better. Today I thought I’d do a December Beauty Box 5 review. For those of you that aren’t familiar, BB5 is a monthly subscription service that delivers five cosmetic samples to your door for $12 per month. If you’re overwhelmed when you shop for beauty products (or don’t have the time), a beauty box subscription is an easy and affordable solution.

Beauty Box 5

Most random eyeshadow palette of colors: NYC Cosmetics Love in Rio Eyeshadow Palette (in Sway with Lola). I can get down with the pink and gold shimmers but there’s no way you’d ever catch me wearing blue eyeshadow. No thanks. If you’re a blue-eyed girl on a budget, you’d probably like this.

The body lotion you’ll want to keep on hand for the holidays: Body Drench Daily Moisturizing Lotion. Body lotions rarely capture my attention but what sucked me in was the sugar cane scent. It smells deelish.

The foot scrub every gal needs in their arsenal: Every Beauty Flexible Foot Smoother. The directions are pretty straight forward: use the smoother dry to slough away dead skin, or soak your feet in warm water for 15 minutes beforehand and treat yourself to a little pedi at home. By far, my favorite discovery in this month’s box because it actually works and I love soft feet.

The moisturizer you can live without: Clean & Clear Morning Burst Hydrating Gel Moisturizer. Call me a moisturizer snob but I’m not crazy about this drugstore sample. It smells good and the results are decent but I prefer my Fresh Lotus Youth Cream.

Best holiday lip plumper on a budget: Ofra Cosmetics Sultry Lipgloss Plumper. If you’re craving a vampy lip but not quite ready to take the plunge, I highly recommend this perfectly pigmented lip gloss. Also the price is right (only $12.95) compared to other high-end options. I had never heard of this brand so another good discovery in this month’s box.

Beauty Box 5 gifted me with a complimentary subscription for review purposes. All opinions in this post are my own.
