My Organic Skincare Facial Experience at Celadon Spa

Celadon Spa Organic Skincare Facial Review - Politics of Pretty

I haven’t had a facial in over a year. I know, kind of pathetic for a beauty blogger. But with the autumn season in full swing, my skin was overdue for a pick-me-up. I guess it was perfect timing because I was recently invited to experience a facial on behalf of Celadon Spa & Salon in DC and naturally, I jumped at the opportunity.

I received an Eminence Organic Skincare Apple & Paprika Exfoliating Facial, Celadon’s signature 60-minute facial. It’s a stimulating facial that will literally spice up your complexion. The natural AHA’s in organic apple and grape pulp work to remove dry dead skin and clear clogged pores. Paprika and other herbs increases blood flow to detoxify the skin and increase cellular renewal.

Celadon Spa Organic Skincare Facial Review - Politics of Pretty

Anna Crowley, skincare connoisseur and Celadon aesthetician, warned me it would bring the heat and she was right! What I really appreciate though is how she mentally prepared me for what my skin would start to feel and was very cognizant of making sure I was comfortable. My face was very red once she removed the peel, so she followed up with a calming mask immediately after and that significantly toned down the redness.

In addition to the peel, the facial includes traditional elements like steaming the face, extractions and the most relaxing shoulder/arm/hand massage. Anna was pleasant and professional, and very attentive. She is extremely knowledgeable about Eminence products and gave me some great skincare tips to try at home. At then end of the facial, my skin looked incredibly healthy, smooth and soft. I was so impressed with the final result! And you can see for yourself. This photo was taken right after my facial, no filter needed!

Once my spa treatment was over, I indulged in a little shopping (first time customers get a 20% card upon arrival). Bumble and Bumble, NEST, Kevyn Aucoin, Morocannoil, Drunk Elephant are just a few of the brands on the shelves of their beauty emporium. I was in home scent heaven as I perused the tables filled with candles. I scooped up a couple of Thymes Frasier Fir Candles (they smell like Christmas trees) in preparation for the holiday season. Now I’m kicking myself for not stocking up on more beauty products!

I walked out of the spa with glowing, literally, glowing skin. So much so that when I returned home my husband noticed (and he’s typically not very observant of my beauty treatments). I was so happy with my spa experience, I’m already thinking about my next trip back there.

Celadon Spa & Salon is located on F Street in Northwest DC. If you plan on driving here, there’s plenty of street parking and parking garages nearby.

My facial at Celadon Spa was complimentary but as always, all opinions are my own.
