5 Festive Beauty Picks for the Holiday Season
Before every blogger starts blasting social media with gift guide collages and lists, I thought I would take a moment to say this first: take time for yourself this holiday season. And indulge in things that make you happy. As a beauty blogger, I naturally put together a list of festive beauty picks that instantly lift my mood around the holidays but more than anything, I hope you take time to do something that makes you feel good.
Personally, I love the holiday season. There are certain things I can’t wait to do like decorating our apartment with festive lights or watching allll the Christmas movies on The Hallmark Channel while I bake and wrap gifts. Here are five festive beauty picks that always get me feeling festive and put me in a good mood.
Holiday Candles
My husband and I live in a small apartment so we don’t have room for a real Christmas tree. Words cannot describe how much we enjoy burning holiday scented candles, so we can *think* we have a real Christmas tree. This one by NEST has a strong birchwood pine scent and it’s soo good!
A Classic Red Lipstick
I feel like the easiest pick-me-up during the stress of gift shopping, parties, cooking, etc. involves a classic blue-red lipstick. Whether you prefer a matte or shimmer finish is totally up to you.
Beauty Advent Calendars
Growing up, I loved the little advent calendars that had pieces of chocolate to open as my sister and I counted down the days till Christmas. This beauty advent calendar by The Body Shop has 25 beauty treats—from bath and body must-haves to holiday inspired scents—all to make the countdown to this year’s Christmas a little more festive.
Mascara with Drama
I’ve been on a mascara kick for a couple of weeks now but this is another beauty product that really gets me in a festive mood for the holidays. Right now I’ve been obsessing over NARS Climax Mascara (they really come up with the most clever names, right?). I shared a little beauty tip to getting the most out of your mascara over on The Body Shop’s website here.
Perfume
I’ve always been partial to my Chanel COCO Mademoiselle Eau de Parfum but the point is, I never like to leave the house without spritzing myself with perfume. And for some reason, this is only during the holiday season. Plus, if you’ve got a bunch of holiday parties on your calendar, you obviously want to smell good!
