My Favorite Alchimie Forever Skincare + Thoughts on Brand Loyalty

My Favorite Alchimie Forever Skincare

Today’s post is a little different from my usual banter and round up of beauty products. Today I’m sharing my thoughts on brand loyalty and my love for Alchimie Forever, a swiss skincare line. But first, a story.

It was April 2012 and my beauty blog was only a couple months old. At the time I was unemployed, I had been laid off from my first job (I was an editorial assistant at Capitol File Magazine) and was trying to figure out my next move. When I wasn’t applying for jobs or interviewing, I was investing all my time into my blog. I needed something to keep my mind off being unemployed and it was my escape.

Ada Polla of Alchimie Forever skincare, was one of the first people I interviewed for this little beauty blog (you can see that post here) and I’ll never forget that. Unlike most brands and PR reps today that size you up based on your Instagram follower count, Ada treated me with respect and kindness (especially for having a very small following at the time). I also interviewed her for my Beauty & The Biz series (maybe I should start that up again?). Anyways, we quickly bonded over our love for makeup and skincare and she has remained a good friend ever since. Alchimie Forever also happens to be one of my favorite skincare brands and I love that it’s headquartered in Washington, D.C. (because very few beauty brands are).

My thoughts on brand loyalty and my favorite Alchimie Forever Skincare

I read this Forbes article about what it takes for brands to win over millennials and the key to brand loyalty is developing a positive relationship with the individual. The more a brand connects with a customer on an individualized basis, the more likely we are to continue shopping with them.

I couldn’t agree more with that statement; as a millennial and loyal Alchimie Forever fan/customer/brand advocate. Of course, my connection to Alchimie is unique because I’m a beauty blogger; however, I don’t associate myself with products I don’t believe in. I love the Alchimie Forever brand and its products. Just last week, Ada invited me to a Beauty & Media luncheon in Georgetown; not to promote her line of skincare but to connect fellow women in beauty and media. (But leaving with a goody bag of Alchimie Forever skincare was also nice).

I own a bevy of Alchimie Forever skincare products and there are a few that have permanent real estate in my skincare shelfie. These are my favorite Alchimie Forever skincare products:

Gentle Refining Scrub: I usually rely on a chemical exfoliator twice a week but sometimes it feels good to actually slough away dead skin with a physical exfoliator like this one. The jojoba pearls and papaya enzymes helps exfoliate skin while shea butter will keep the skin feeling nourished. This formula doesn’t contain any microbeads, which for me is great because microbeads really irritate my skin.

Kantic Brightening Moisture Mask: I love this mask. It smells like wild berries mashed together and it feels so good on my skin. I like to smother a thick coat all over my face and sit for 20 minutes. After I rinse, my face is glowing (and it feels soft and hydrated). I genuinely look forward to using this mask each week.

Protective Day Cream SPF 23: I am very picky about my sunscreen. Very picky. There’s nothing worse than that greasy, sticky feeling I get with certain sunscreens. This is the complete opposite of that. I like that I can layer this under my moisturizer or wear alone. It’s very lightweight.

Firming Gel for Neck and Bust: I often forget about this step in my skincare routine; however, I feel good every time I use this knowing it will hopefully make a difference as I continue to age.

Is there a beauty company you’ve developed brand loyalty for? I’d love to know in the comments!
