My Favorite Everyday Neutral Eyeshadow Palettes
I’m so excited for today’s post because I get to talk about my favorite eyeshadow quads from Charlotte Tilbury.
I thought it would be helpful to do a side-by-side comparison of the Exagger-Eyes and Pillow Talk eyeshadow palettes. At first glance they look very similar. I purchased Exagger-Eyes back in November and when Pillow Talk was released, I was on the fence about purchasing (because online the palettes looked almost identical). Eventually I took the bait and purchased Pillow Talk.
Charlotte Tilbury Exagger-Eyes Eyeshadow Palette
Exagger-Eyes is marketed as a rose gold eyeshadow palette and when worn, the colors appear to be much warmer than what you see in photos. Colors include a pale warm champagne, shimmering tan rose, sheer sparkling silver mauve, and a warm tan rose brown.
I didn’t find this quad to give me a rose gold finish at all. The warm tan rose has a red undertone, which threw me off the first time I tried the palette. However, all that said, I still really love this palette. I found that it was very complementary to my winter wardrobe. The champagne shade is my favorite for inner corner highlight (even when I use the Pillow Talk palette I prefer this). The sparkling silver mauve is also nice but I never bother using with a brush, I always pack it on my lid using my ring finger.
Charlotte Tilbury Pillow Talk Eyeshadow Palette
This palette has four shades, a soft shimmery rose pink champagne, a matte warm pink brown, a rose gold glitter, and a warm matte brown.
To me, this quad is more of a rose gold palette compared to Exagger-Eyes. I find the matte pink to be the most beautiful shade (and my new neutral). The shades have a much softer finish compared to any other eyeshadow palette I currently own; however, all you really need is a good pencil liner and a creamy eyeshadow base to define and make your look pop.
I don’t regret purchasing either of these Charlotte Tilbury palettes and I think both serve different purposes for my style. Exagger-Eyes was my every day makeup staple through the fall and winter months while Pillow Talk is quickly becoming my daily go-to for my spring wardrobe. Both work so well for every day eye makeup. If I add a little liner, a couple coats of mascara, both quads will take me from day to night.
