Being unemployed has been great when it comes to cleaning my apartment and organizing my beauty stash. I’ve accumulated so many eyeshadow palettes over several years and I’m way overdue for a clean-out! The beauty product hoarder in me wants to keep them all but in order to make room for new palettes, I need to make some cuts.
Here’s a quick list of what I’m going to toss and what I’m planning to keep as I go through my eyeshadow palette collection cleanout. And to clarify, I’m not actually going to throw away any palettes. Depending on the condition, I’ll be selling them on Poshmark or donating to a women’s shelter. Toss:
Too Faced | Sweet Peach Eyeshadow Palette: This was a really fun palette when the peach beauty trend was popular. I feel like most of the shades are attainable with the other ones I own so I’m willing to give this up.
Urban Decay | Naked Ultimate Basics: This was one of my favorite palettes at one point in time but I never reach for it now. I feel like most of these shades exist in other Urban Decay palettes. It’s marked down to under $25 so I’m kind of pissed I paid full price for this.
Urban Decay | Naked3 Palette: This was another favorite I once loved but again, it’s not something I use anymore.
Stila | Nouveau Neutral: Sadly, I can’t link because I think the brand discontinued it; however, it’s a beautiful neutral eyeshadow palette. I just never took the time to really use it.
Keep:
Tarte | Tartelette Toasted: This is the newest palette in my collection so there’s no way I’m tossing this anytime soon! I love the mix of matte and shimmer shades and it’s perfect for the fall season.
ColourPop | You Had Me At Hello: I love the cool-toned plums and mauve browns. I still find myself playing with this palette so I’ll be keeping this close!
ColourPop | Yes, Please!: This is my favorite warm-toned eyeshadow palette! I’m going to tuck this away for now but it’s definitely worth keeping for next year.
Too Faced | Just Peachy Velvet Mattes: Unlike the Sweet Peach palette, I’m not ready to give this one up. Compared to the other, I feel like these matte shades are easier to blend and wear for just about any occasion.
Urban Decay | Born to Run: I honestly haven’t had a chance to test drive any looks with this (besides swatching) but I love the jewel tones in this palette. Will definitely be keeping (for now)!
Urban Decay | Beached: For a summer eyeshadow palette, this is staple. I am usually quick to toss limited edition palettes but I love the mermaid-esque colors and think this will come in handy for next summer.
Undecided…
LORAC | Unzipped: I’m torn because it’s a beautiful palette with nice variety of classic nudes, taupes and browns. Although I haven’t used it lately because I’m been obsessed with my Tarte palette. Do you think I should toss or keep?
On My Wish List:
Urban Decay | Naked Cherry: I swore off new palettes after my last Tarte purchase but I loveeeeee this new palette from UD. The burgundys, the reds, the pinks… I really don’t have most of these shades in my arsenal so I feel like this is a must-have. It’s currently sold out on the UD website so I’m waiting for Ulta to release it online this Saturday.
Marc Jacobs | Eye-Conic Multi-Finish Eyeshadow Palette: Ever since I splurged on a few Marc Beauty products during the last Sephora sale, I was left wanting more. I’ve heard good things about the formula but I’m torn on which color to get. Have you tried any of the palettes?
