I am officially halfway through my shopping hiatus and I have to admit the days are crawling by. My wish list is accumulating quickly; however, this no spend month has me appreciating all my current daily makeup staples. So with that, an ode to my makeup favorites.
I’m always going for a glowy dewy complexion and I found an old favorite to help boost that ‘lit from within’ glow—L’Oreal Lumi Glotion. I use the lightest shade but sometimes I’ll mix it with Light or Medium if I use it alone. Right now I use a little under my Glossier Perfecting Skin Tint. Even though it takes some finessing, I really love my Glossier Cloud Paint. I’ve been mixing puff (cool pink) and dusk (dark peach) together but I also love puff and haze (berry) for a rosy complexion.
Let’s talk about lashes. The last purchase I made in 2018 was expensive, but the best decision ever. I’ve only tried one other lash growth treatment (R+F Lash Boost) so I am very eager to compare to Peter Thomas Lashes to Die For Turbo. According to the box, it claims to boost lash growth in 4 weeks. If that’s true, it’ll put Lash Boost to shame (it took me a solid 6-8 before I started to see a difference). I’ve been very diligent about applying this every night before bed. I’m on week three and I’m already noticing a difference.
Another favorite lash tool—my Tweezerman rose gold lash curler. I desperately needed a new one because I’ve been using the same Chanel lash curler for years and did not have a replacement rubber. I’m currently rotating between three mascaras: Lash Slick, Velvet Noir and NARS Climax.
In the skincare department—hand cream! I can’t live without hand cream right now. This L’Occitane mini hand cream is always on my desk at home. I’m also obsessed with this drugstore hand cream as well.
My Charlotte Tilbury eyeshadow quad is one of my favorite daily makeup staples. This is a limited-edition rose gold quad—perfect for every day wear. I’m thinking about purchasing another quad when I’m off this hiatus. Have you tried Charlotte Tilbury eyeshadow? Would love to get more color recommendations!
Sometimes I miss wearing color on my nails… but then I remember how much I love my Deborah Lippmann polish. This has a matte finish and it literally looks like a CC cream for your nails. Bare and beautiful!
In the lippie department—Fenty Beauty Gloss Bomb was so worth every penny ($18 to be exact). It’s equal parts moisturizing and luminous—the best of both worlds! I also finally got a chance to try the new and improved Glossier Generation G lipsticks and they definitely feel less drying than the original bunch.
I’ve been testing out this new Hybrid applicator from MakeupDrop. Most of the applicator is a traditional sponge and then part of it is a flat silicone drop, which is designed to help with sculpting. I’ve been very devoted to my BeautyBlender but I do enjoy using this new applicator. The flat silicone side has been really helpful for the initial application of liquid makeup and cream blushes.
What are your favorite daily makeup staples as of late?

That’s so great to hear! I tend to use the same products for a period of time and then slowly I start to weave in new products. Thanks so much for reading! xo
Bahaha oh my gosh girl! This post I can SO relate to. I’m doing no spend January as well, and really, it’s going great, but my to buy list on February 1st is seriously so out of control right now. LOL And I’ll be adding some of these products to it as well!
OK, so I’m not alone. Good!! I know my wish list keeps growing and now I need to start rationing for February, March and then probably April. 2019 is off to a painful start haha thanks so much for reading!
