Aside from perfumes, do you ever buy other beauty products just because it smells good? Personally, I am totally willing to toss my laundry list of product requirements aside if it smells amazing—like AH-mazing.
From body care to hair mists, I rounded up my best smelling beauty products, plus my full fragrance collection. I know I’ve talked about some of these products before so instead of full reviews, I’m sticking to fragrance notes and the memory they evoke when I wear them.
Body Scrub and Lotion
Herbivore Coconut Rose Coconut Oil Body Polish: The scent of this oil-based scrub is pretty obvious based on the name of the product but I can’t get enough of this delicate coconut and Moroccan rose smell.
Glossier Body Hero Lotion: What makes this smell so great? Orange blossom neroli blend, apparently. But in my opinion, it smells like candies, cotton, and baby lotion.
Deodorants, Hairsprays and Candles
Glossier You Fragrance: The free sample is what drew me in. It’s the newest fragrance to my collection and my go-to for every day/work. It’s very hard to pinpoint what this smells like since they market it as a “skin enhancer” for your natural scent.
Lavanila The Healthy Deodorant: I like vanilla ice cream and vanilla yogurt, so it’s no surprise I’m obsessed with this vanilla scented deodorant. It’s definitely one of the best smelling beauty products I’ve worn for deodorant.
OUAI Memory Mist: I don’t know if I’m more enamored with OUAI products for its effectiveness or its scent. The fragrance is a French-inspired fragrance with notes of violet, gardenia, ylang ylang (a heavy sweet and fruity floral essential oil), and white musk.
OUAI Texturizing Hairspray: This is one of my best smelling beauty products of all time. I think I’m more attached to this hairspray than the memory mist. This one has notes of bergamot, Italian lemon, rose de mai, violet, and white musk. Unlike other hairsprays that have an awful chemical smell, this one is like perfume for your hair.
Thymes Frasier Fir Candle: You would think it’s Christmas year-round when I burn candles in my apartment because I love Christmas scented candles so much. This one has an aromatic snap of cedarwood, sandalwood and Siberian fir needles. LOVE!
Perfumes and Sprays
This is my complete fragrance wardrobe (though some of them I don’t really wear anymore).
Clinique Happy Perfume Spray: This is actually one of my few perfumes I feel like I can wear year-round, but especially perfect for the spring and summer. It’s very floral and fruity—but not too strong. Notes include ruby red grapefruit, bergamot, Hawiian wedding flower, and spring mimosa.
Joie Folle de Joie Perfume: Joie’s signature scent is derived from the California beaches but romancticized by Parisian charm. Basically, everything I wish I could be in a 3.4 fl oz. bottle. I was very lucky to have snagged this as a gift set a few years ago before it was discontinued. However, it looks like its making a comeback soon. I always hear from readers asking if they know when it’s coming back and sadly I don’t, but you can sign up here to get a notification when they do.
Aerin Rose De Grasse: I wore this on my wedding day so I will always have a special place for this fragrance. This is a super floral scent that smells like a bouquet of roses, like something Lisa Vanderpump would decorate her house with. Sidebar: I can’t believe this is more expensive than Chanel!
Chanel Coco Mademoiselle Eau de Parfum Spray: Eau de Parfum: My favorite Chanel perfume among the bunch. Unlike traditional oriental scents that are heavy and spiced, this is softened with a sparkling citrus. While it’s a very feminine and youthful fragrance to wear, I would still equate it to smelling like a Real Housewife.
Estee Lauder Modern Muse: This is my favorite fragrance among the Modern Muse family. The fragrance type is a floral woody lush but what I smell most is mandarin, honeysuckle and fresh lily. I haven’t worn this in ages but smelling this while photographing these items made me put it back in rotation.
Modern Muse Chic: I think I like the packaging more than the actual scent; however, I’m very drawn to the notes of jasmine and cashmere. It’s a very complex scent and kind of difficult to describe.
Modern Muse Le Rouge: This is a more rich fragrance in comparison to the other two. This one is more oriental/floral/fruity and very strong. I haven’t worn this is ages, but it does look nice on my shelfie.
