There’s nothing better than a four day weekend, amiright?! As I mentioned on my Instagram, I spent a few days in Deep Creek Lake with my husband and his parents. We love coming here to escape from the hustle and bustle of the city.
The weather in Deep Creek is typically a little bit cooler than the city, but the past few days have been warmer than usual (around 80 degrees), so skinny jeans was not an option! Usually I prefer wearing casual dresses but these blue linen shorts have become my summertime staple. They look great with this pleated top (which is currently marked down to $20)! And they can easily be dressed up or down. It’s the short you can take from daytime shopping to evening dinner and that’s exactly what I did this past weekend.
It’s was best long-weekend so far this year—indulging in delicious food (steaks on the grill, corn on the cob, homemade bread) and enjoying evening boat rides (although the water was a little rough). But my favorite part as been noshing on ice cream. Every. Single. Night. Doesn’t matter what flavor I get because they all belong in a homemade waffle cone. But in case you’re wondering, one scoop of cake batter and one scoop of cookies ‘n’ cream is just heaven!
So now you’re probably thinking, “how did you manage to eat so much ice cream and still fit into your blue linen shorts?”
To be honest, I’m wondering the same thing.
Did you do anything special for the 4th of July? Would love to hear how you spent the holiday weekend in the comments!
