About a month ago, I received a complimentary package from Pixi beauty. The brand graciously sent me not one, not two, but three sets of Pixi Peel & Polish. Unlike my usual beauty product reviews, I thought I’d try something a little different this time.
Finding great skincare products is a feat in itself but finding great skincare products for your 20s, 30s or 40s can be even more difficult. Which led me to this question: can certain skincare products work for women in their 20s, 30s and 40s? I wanted to put it to the test. So I shared the extra peels with two other women in exchange for one small price—their honest opinion.
The Product: Pixi Peel & Polish
What it does: A radiance revealing enzyme peel resurfaces for smoother, softer skin, and a healthy looking glow. According to the details on Target, it’s suited for all skin types.
No intro needed here. You know me! I just turned 29 on Friday so thankfully I still fall into this age bracket for this post. Ha!
My Skin Type: Normal, Dry Combination
As you know I’ve tried my fair share of masks but I’ve always been hesitant about potent peels. I have very sensitive skin so I was prepared to feel like my face was burning for the three minutes I had it on. I am always dealing with blackheads and large pores around my nose—so rubbing it in circles provides an effective physical exfoliation that help with retexturizing. Unlike other peels, this didn’t leave my skin red or irritated. I would definitely use this again. The $24 price isn’t bad either!
Meet my (older) sister Katina, 32, who loves trying beauty products as much as I do. We might share a similar porcelain skin tone but we have different skin types. She works as an aesthetician at European Wax Center in Arlington.
Her Skin Type: Mature, Dry Combination
“I love this product because it’s gentle on my skin while lifting dead surface cells. The papaya helps brighten my complexion and gives it a dewy healthy glow. Exfoliation increases cell turnover which is super important for new cell growth and prolongs aging. This is a must-have for aging skin, so I would definitely use this again!”
I also asked my friend and boss at my current full-time gig, Rebecca, 41, to share her thoughts on this peel. She balances a full-time job and two small kids so it’s really important to find products that fit into her hectic schedule.
Her Skin Type: Oily, Combination
“Not a bad two-minute solution at all. While I wouldn’t call it a peel, this scrub mask left my skin feeling like silk after only a few minutes. It has the texture of Clinique’s 7 Day Scrub and starts to feel warm and tingly after a minute—didn’t really sting like other products with similar ingredients. I wouldn’t use this often at my age, maybe once a week. Time is short for me (full-time work, travel and two small kids), so I love how quickly it makes a visible difference. I followed it up with Becca’s Instant Complexion Refresh Priming Filter and my mother-in-law asked if I had just gotten a facial.”
So there you have it. Regardless of age or skin concerns, we all found a reason to love this peel.

Thanks for taking the time to talk about this, I feel fervently about this and I take pleasure in learning about this topic. Please, as you gain information, please update this blog with more information. I have found it very useful.
I love trying different face masks! The best one I have tried is the Citrus Clear Pore & Blackhead Mask. Its great for blackheads, pore shrinking, and anti aging. It has a cool tingly feeling to it when applied and the smell is nice too. This dries in about 20 mins depening how thick u put it on. The mask does have great suction to it. My face seems softer after using it.
