bareMinerals Marvelous Moxie Lip Collection

Let’s get to the obvious: I am a lipstick and lip gloss hoarder. I actually have an entire drawer at home filled with every type of lip product possible (though I’m sure you’re not surprised). So you can imagine the excitement when I opened up a care package from bareMinerals. It’s like my equivalent of hitting the jackpot.

With warmer temperatures, I usually stray from heavy lipsticks and pack my makeup bag with glosses and tinted balms. But  I was pleasantly surprised to find discover new shades that are light-weight and easy to wear with or without lipliner. Today, I’m sharing three of my favorite lip looks using bareMinerals Marvelous Moxie lipsticks, lipgloss and lipliners.

First up, my favorite daytime lipstick look:

Kara Manos Politics of Pretty

bareMinerals Moxie lipstick in “Fly High” ($18). It’s a pretty pastel shade that just so happened to match perfectly with the top I was wearing. I have a natural tint to my lips so I used a Moxie lipliner in”Liberated” to mute any color before applying lipstick. I love the creamy satin finish it had.

When I’m in the mood for a bright lip, I wear this:

I’m obsessed with this rich, pigment-packed shade in “Never Say Never,” ($18). I actually didn’t wear lipliner before applying and it immediately transformed my pout, not to mention lasted the rest of the afternoon without having to touch-up.

I usually stick to sheer lip gloss shades, but decided to be adventurous and get in touch with my darker side:

My third and final look was a fun (and experimental) take on their lipgloss collection. “Ring Leader” (a shimmery light pink) is like, my shade… the tube I now keep in my handbag at all times. I also fell in love with “Dare Devil,” and was drawn to the deep shimmery berry shade (it’s like my lip’s alter ego) and knew I wanted to try incorporating both in to one look. I filled the inner ring of my top and bottom lip with the lighter shade and lined the outer part of my pout with the deep berry. Noticeable if you look closely, but not obvious. The glosses are a little on the sticky side but totally worth it for the pop of color and hint of shimmer.

I’d love to hear what you think of these looks! Which one is your favorite? Leave a comment below or tweet me @politics_pretty. You can scoop up these shades and more from the 42-piece lip collection online here.
