This year I’m on a journey to test a new mask once a week in 2016. 52 weeks. 52 masks. Whether it’s a moisturizing face mask or an exfoliating foot treatment, I’m going to report on what products are worth the splurge… or not. This week I decided to focus on a pore tightening treatment with Dr. Jart+ Pore Medic Pore Purifying Mask.
What it does: This is a single sheet pore purifying mask that is designed to tighten pores, drawing out impurities and stimulate pore contraction. This mask also has hydrating ingredients to help detoxify and brighten skin.
What it felt like: I could feel the tightening sensation as I masked for 20 minutes. I have to admit, it was borderline uncomfortable, but I’d rather be feeling something than nothing to know it’s working.
What I did while I masked: My hubby and I love watching old episodes of Dateline. We’re addicted to real-life murder mysteries.
The results: Immediately after I masked, my skin felt super smooth and much tighter. I noticed a sticky residue after using—but I’m noticing that’s a common theme when I test any sheet mask. Having a smooth base before applying makeup is key to a flawless look and this mask definitely did the trick. Side note: If you’re trying to diminish the appearance of pores on a frequent basis, I highly recommend Dr. Jart+ Pore Minish Primer. It has a matte finish, which I love, and significantly helps refine skin texture, providing a smooth base before applying makeup.

Hi! I have heard a lot about the Origins Charcoal mask. I’d like to see what you think before I take the plunge!
Will be sure to test this and report back!
Sounds pretty good! But the more mattifying mask sounds great too.
Love new mask a week concept!
I’ll have to try this one, it sounds like it would be perfect for my skin.
