What does “Life Unfiltered” mean to you? In a world where social media is so prominent, it’s easy to get caught up in the perfection of what we see online but how often do you take in the beauty within yourself and around you? Life unfiltered isn’t a specific place, person or product. In my opinion, living a life unfiltered is what I do every day—it’s real, natural, at times chaotic but most of all, beautiful. Between my full-time job, my blog and planning a wedding, I don’t have much time to get all dolled up and that’s why I heavily rely on a foolproof skin routine. From what you eat to how you drink, I’m sharing my top beauty skincare tips for living a beautiful life, unfiltered.
Do watch what you drink. You know that saying, “you are what you eat”? You’d be surprised how certain food groups affect your skin. I’ve learned that dairy can cause inflammation of the skin so I try and drink Unsweetened Almond Milk as often as possible.
Don’t over-exfoliate. We collect so many dead skin cells it’s tempting to want to exfoliate on a daily basis but over-exfoliating can lead to irritated and flaking skin.
Do take care of your neck and décolleté. Sometimes, we are so focused on our face that we forget about two other areas that show aging just as much.
Don’t sip from a straw. Drinking from a straw creates lines around the mouth (often referred to as smokers’ lines) but you don’t want to get wrinkles there, especially if you don’t smoke. So avoid drinking from straws too!
Do embrace your ‘no makeup’ look. When I first started working out four months ago, I used to get all dolled up but then I started experiencing breakouts more often. You see, sweating opens up pores and when you’re wearing makeup, you’re combining it with dirt and bacteria. Needless to say, embrace your ‘no makeup’ look and at minimum, stick to a restorative concentrate like Shiseido’s Ultimune. Ultimune helps strengthen skin for a smooth, resilient and glowing finish. Infused with mood-elevating green floral fragrance called ImuCalm Compound, which includes rose and lotus to reduce stress and help repair the skin’s barrier function. Don’t get it twisted—this isn’t a serum, but one heck of a concentrate that can work wonders on your complexion. Most importantly, it allows you to achieve your greatest, natural beauty potential… unfiltered of course.
I’m excited to partner with Shiseido during their #LifeUnfiltered Beauty campaign. Stay tuned for another blog post detailing how I use Ultimune in my daily beauty routine!
