New Bag Reveal: GG Maull Red Clutch

I first heard of GG Maull through one of my favorite bloggers: Grace Atwood of The Stripe. After reading the GG Maull story, the mission really resonated with me. First, GG Maull is a woman-owned business. All of their leather is sourced in Italy (and the artisans who handcraft GG Maull bags work in comfortable and safe conditions while being properly compensated). The bags are made in small batches to limit degradation of the environment and each bag is made with quality to last for several years.

During the two months I wasn’t working I had to part ways with two luxury handbags in my collection. The first was my Chanel Wallet on Chain in Light Red. I never thought I would sell any Chanel I got my hands on but over time I realized a WOC wasn’t an ideal size for my lifestyle.

I told myself if I didn’t get a job offer by October I would also sell my Louis Vuitton Palm Springs Mini Backpack. Technically, I got my job offer on October 11th but after some deliberation I decided it was for the best to sell that too. I had a harder time selling the backpack because it was a gift to myself for my 30th birthday. Ultimately, things are things and it was not a necessity in my life.

After selling two designer bags, I liked the idea of wearing something that isn’t owned by everyone else. And I like that this bag was significantly more affordable than any other handbag currently in my collection.

I fell in love with the Outlaw Clutch in Lipstick Red. It’s the perfect shade of red and I’ve been dreaming of a red handbag for a few months now (but didn’t have the budget for anything too luxurious). The bag is Italian calf leather with quilted detailing on two layers of leather and signature gold hardware.

Don’t be fooled by the bag name—it’s definitely the largest clutch I’ve ever owned. The Outlaw has room for a small wallet, card case, iPhone, lipstick, and any other small essential. It comes with a relatively short cocktail length chain (13” from shoulder to the top of the bag) so I can wear it over my shoulder or the crook of my arm.

Needless to say, I’m very happy with my recent purchase (I was able to scoop it up on sale during Black Friday sales). It’s the perfect statement bag, especially for the holiday party season!
