Last weekend I did a little in-store and online beauty shopping and somehow ended up buying all clean beauty products from Follain, Anthropologies, Bluemercury, and Amazon.
Before I get to my haul I want to share a couple thoughts on two new stores I visited in person. Not exactly a new store but a new location—I first stepped into the new three-story Anthropologie in Bethesda for the first time and let me just say… WOW! What a beautiful space. You’d think Anthro was a department store because that’s how large the space was. If you’re a Maryland locavore then you may know it replaced the old Barnes & Noble bookstore—a popular landmark in town. This Anthro has a café, a terrain shop, BHLDN, and massive home store. As I was walking through the space with my friend, we both said how we wished we had visited BHLDN when we were engaged.
We also popped in a new store in Bethesda that I am completely obsessed with. Follain is a clean beauty retailer with a curated collection of non-toxic products from 70+ brands. They recently expanded to Bethesda (originally based in Boston) and the space is right next to Sugarfina. My friend and I had a great experience as we sampled tons of skincare, makeup, and body care products. I’m hoping to make another visit there after the holidays are over so I can discover more brands.
6 clean beauty products
Lavanila Deodorant: I’ve been on the hunt for the best natural and organic deodorant for a while but could not find an effective deodorant I could actually use. I purchased the pure vanilla scent (smells amazing!) and so far I’ve experienced long-lasting odor protection. No pit stains here!
Deborah Lippmann All About That Base: This is a restock on my favorite Deborah Lippmann nail polish. It’s like a CC cream that works as a base coat for your nails. I never wear nail polish (unless it’s a special occasion) and this is the perfect every day nude polish I can wear alone and not be embarrassed about how bare my nails look.
Tenoverten Rose Cuticle Oil: Found this in Follain and I am OBSESSED! There is nothing worse than dealing with dry, cracked cuticles and nails and this is such an effortless fix. The applicator is a tiny rollerball so you can easily press over cuticles and massage for a nice little treatment. Coupled with my CC cream nail polish, it looks like I just stepped out of the nail salon with a fresh mani.
Herbivore Coco Rose Body Polish: First of all, love the millennial pink packaging! I’m such a sucker for body scrubs, especially ones that smell like coconut and rose. This formula uses Morcoccan rose antioxidants and beta carotenes to scrub away dead skin while virgin coconut oil keeps skin moisturized. I definitely look forward to my showers much more thanks to this.
Herbivore Rose Hibiscus Coconut Water Hydrating Face Mist: I love how hydrating this formula is while also keeping my makeup looking dewy (when I use it as a setting spray). I also like to spray it on my face after cleansing and my arms (which, oddly have been feeling really dry lately).
Weleda Skin Food: I bought this on Amazon and it just arrived on my door step last night. I read on Into the Gloss this is the $12 dupe to La Mer cream. Um hi, I’m Kara. It’s a little too early for me to share my honest thoughts but wanted to include in this round up because I think this will be a staple in my winter skincare routine.
Have you added any new clean beauty products to your skincare or makeup routine? Let me know in the comments!
I desperately need to switch out my products for cleaner options! Definitely picking up a few of these.

Just incorporating these products alone has made such a difference in my skin!
I just started using Youth to the People’s Adaptogen Deep Moisture Cream and I am in love with it. It’s doing wonders for my skin! I am a clean beauty convert!
That’s so great to know. I will have to check that out. Thanks so much for reading!
