Hair-spiration: Neon Hair Streaks

Neon Hair Streaks

I fondly remember spending my tween years obsessing over hair streaks and spending all my allowance money at Claire’s on those faux colored clip-ins. Flash forward a decade or so later and neon hair streaks have never been bigger (and in my opinion, far more chic), thanks to some hair-spiration at the Oscar de la Renta spring/summer runway show.

You can get the look sans a trip to the hair salon, thanks to Anastasia Beverly Hills Hypercolor Brow and Hair Powder collection. These temporary 3-in-1 pigments (these can also be used as liner or eyeshadow) can easily be applied on the ends of your locks or brows, by sandwiching your strands between your fingers and the powder, or by using a brush. Combining silicone and pigment-rich oxides, these powders offer intense color, not to mention a soft application that glides on hair smoothly.

I was pleasantly surprised when I tested “In the Pink” shade on my tresses because the application was smooth and the color was eye-catching, but not overwhelming. I felt like my inner rebel was coming out. And as soon as I was ready to ditch the neon pink, a quick wash was all it took (no chalky residue!).

Priced at just $12.50 each and available in Electric Blue, Teal Tornado, Megawatt Green, Ultra Violet, and In the Pink, you’ll want to scoop up the entire collection and rotate each hue on a weekend basis.
