This is a warning before I share what might be an unpopular opinion…
I don’t want my face to ever look airbrushed.
I love my skin. Yes, even when I endure a breakout or a pesky little pimple. I like to conceal unwanted visitors but that doesn’t meant I want to hide my entire face.
But when it comes to wearing a light or medium coverage foundation, I like to make sure I have a smooth, less porous surface so that my makeup lasts all day. Here are my favorite makeup primers I like to use for the perfect base:
Hello FAB Coconut Skin Smoothie Priming Moisturizer: I’ve been using this since it first launched and it’s one of the best, lightweight primers I’ve ever used. I like using it on days when I go without makeup or in the summer (because coconut).
L’Oreal Magic Lumi Light Infusing Primer: This is the newest primer in my collection. For a drugstore primer, I’m really impressed. It’s no secret I love a dewy base and this helps my skin look glowy and keeps foundation in place.
Milk Makeup Blur Stick: At first glance, it looks like a bronzer or contouring stick but it’s actually a colorless, matte, universal face filter. This primer wins in making my pores disappear but I have dry skin so this doesn’t necessarily feel great, compared other primers. Out of this entire collection, I probably use this the least.
Glossier Priming Moisturizer: I love love love love this primer. Whether I apply my Glossier Skin Tint, Make Up For Ever Skin Perfector or my Rimmel London Foundation, my skin feels smooth, bright and flawless thanks to this primer.
L’Oreal Lumi Glotion: What I love about this product is I can use it as a primer, highlighter or tinted moisturizer. Basically, it’s a triple threat at a really affordable price. If I use it as a tinted moisturizer, I’ll mix it with this product for a subtle glow. These come in multiple shades and I wear the lightest shade, Fair 901.
