My DC Style: Broke and Fabulous (But Mostly Broke)

Politics of Pretty's Fall Wish List

Rebecca Taylor Chiffon Leggings, $250; Proenza Schouler Medium PS1, $1,695; J.Crew Classic Printed Ballet Flats, $135; Jewelmint Audrey Earrings, $29.99; Elizabeth and James Sienna Blazer, $395.

If you’ve made it to this part of the blog post, then you’ve figured out this write-up has nothing to do with beauty. While I anxiously await the Beauty and the Blogger event at Neiman Marcus at Mazza Gallerie, my thoughts have been consumed by shopping for fall clothes and accessories. While I’d like to think this fall wish list will be complete come October… let’s be real: I’m broke and job-less. Kind of.

At the Rebecca Taylor fall/winter 2012 runway show in February, I fell in love with these chiffon leggings. That’s when I swore to myself that one way or another, I’d get my hands on these chic little things. And that same little voice came back recently during the Neiman Marcus Fall Trend Event at Tysons Galleria, when I saw this gorgeous Elizabeth and James dark green blazer on the rack. And since fall is all about the new neutrals, I have a serious bag crush on this Proenza Schouler PS1 satchel. I seriously considered deferring one of my student loans for this (don’t worry Mom, I decided against it). On the more affordable part of this wish list, a really artsy print pair of flats (just think of the outfits you could coordinate with just that one pair of shoes!) and a pair of oversized daisy earrings (sweet and chic). What are your fall favorites?
