In My Makeup Bag: Marc Jacobs Air Blush Soft Glow Duo

Blush has not been part of my makeup routine for quite some time. I was more interested in looking like a freshly glazed donut à la Glossier, using a cream highlighter and bronzer. But when temperatures turn cold, my complexion starts to look ghostly. I was overdue for a bright, pick-me-up.

At first glance Marc Jacobs Air Blush looks heavy in pigment but I’m so glad I gave it a try. This blush is probably one of the few that looks flattering yet natural-looking. More importantly, I look awake when I’m wearing this blush (because there’s nothing worse than looking tired and pale at my 9-to-5).

This powder blush duo is nothing like you’ve seen before. It’s basically two shades that you can blend for customizable color. You can go light by sweeping the lighter color in a vertical motion, or layer the intensity by sweeping horizontally using the right side more heavily. I first applied using my Marc Jacobs Angled Blush Brush No. 10 and it gave me just the right amount of control to sweep color on my cheeks without looking like a clown.

Lush & Libido—a cool baby pink and hot pink
Lines & Last Night—a soft creamsicle and deep tangerine
Kink & Kisses—a soft light coral and bright peachy rose
Flesh & Fantasy—a soft ivory shimmer and tawny light bronze
Night Fever & Hot Stuff—a bright warm hot pink and cherry red
