If hoarding mascara is a crime, then I plead guilty. I’ll be the first to admit my mascara wardrobe is almost as flourishing as my lipstick collection. Here, I’ve broken down my favorite mascaras and when I like to wear them:
For day-to-night, I love Covergirl Lashblast 24 Hour Mascara (about $9) which is packed with the best lash bonding resins that resist any threats to long-lasting lashes. When I’ve got an extremely long day ahead of me, it’s my go-to.
When it’s date night with my bf, I stick to Sephora Collection Outrageous Volume Mascara ($15). I’m obsessed with just how much bigger my lashes get after applying two to three coats of this ultra black pigment. Come bedtime though, I definitely need a few good cotton pads soaked in an oil-based makeup remover.
When I’m creating a smoky eye, I use Make Up For Ever Smoky Lash Mascara ($23) to complement my look. It’s the complete package for me: length, volume and curl. The fact that it’s easy to remove at night with an oil-based makeup remover is a bonus in my book.
If I’m getting ready to don a little black dress for the evening, I like to play up my eyes with purple mascara. I love to coat my lashes with Yves Saint Laurent‘s award-winning Volume Effet Faux Cils in Fascinating Violet ($30). [DIY tip: I like to coat my lashes in a basic black mascara and then coat just the tip of my lashes with the violet to bring out the green in my eyes.]
And last, but hardly least; my absolute favorite, can’t-live-without, must-have on me at all times, Maybelline Great Lash Mascara (about $5). I have yet to complain about clumps with this infamous pink and green tube.
