I was hoping this post you’re reading now would of read, “on my way to New York Fashion Week!” and sadly, this post is being replaced with “I can’t go to NYC because of this stupid blizzard” (this would soo happen to me, by the way). Regardless, here I am… blogging about why I’m not going to New York to go backstage at all my favorite shows and find out about the beauty and hair trends set to debut in the fall (insert sad face here).
This would’ve been my sixth season traveling to New York for Mercedes-Benz Fashion Week and what has always been a typical weekend trip now leaves me in shock that I won’t be experiencing all that Fashion Week has to offer (most notably, switching in and out of sky high heels, those tasty Fiber One bars and of course, lots of celebrity spotting and people watching). What I was most excited for was actually getting to wear a designer look to a designer show (I finally got my hands on these Rebecca Taylor chiffon leggings I drooled over two seasons ago). So, now this just means I’m going to live vicariously through a bevy of blogs and Instagram accounts.
Looks like I’m not the only one postponing my plans, Marc Jacobs just rescheduled his show for next Thursday.
In case you missed The New York Times styles feature on beauty bloggers backstage at fashion week, you can find out what it was about by reading this sarcastic response by some anonymous beauty editors.
I read this post earlier that had me so psyched for my trip, but nevertheless, a nice round up of fashion week essentials by Emily Weiss.
And a round up on the latest runway show coverage featuring my favorites, Creatures of the Wind and BCBG.
If you’re a beauty junkie like me, you’ll appreciate this backstage coverage at Creatures of the Wind, featuring rose gold eyes.
Aw, what a drag! I’ve been living vicariously through the instagrams too. Creatures of the Wind is gorg!
