L’eau Down: Flower by Drew Barrymore

Flower by Drew Barrymore Review - Politics of Pretty

The fragrance: Cherished Eau de Parfum Spray

In three words or less: Light, fresh, dewy

The story: Flower by Drew Barrymore was designed with a modern day “every” woman in mind; juggling love, friends, family, work—life. Basically she made this fragrance for me. This is one of three fragrances from her Flower Makeup Collection, appropriately titled Cherished. These fragrances (Cherished, Radiant & Sultry) can be worn alone or layered together to create your own perfume cocktail.

The notes: Morning dew, sparkling cassis, Italian lemon blossom, Irish petals, cabbage rose, and Lily of the Valley. Think creamy base notes like clean cotton, vanilla and sandalwood.

My thoughts: I don’t think I’ve ever tried a drugstore perfume… especially one priced just under $25. But what I love most is how sweet and simplistic this particular fragrance is. I’ve always been honest about the fact that I don’t have a signature scent. While I envy the women that do, I enjoy choosing a perfume based on my mood. Cherished has a soft powdery vanilla smell to it, making this cozy and feminine, and something I could easily reach for every day. I’ve been spritzing this on my neck and wrists before I go to work and I love that this scent isn’t overpowering because nothing is more obnoxious than having the entire office smell you from a mere three cubicals away. I definitely feel like I have a high-end fragrance without the expensive price tag and the packaging is super cute—a flower cap and quilted square bottle that complements her makeup collection.
