It’s no secret—I have been a beauty product junkie for as long as I can remember. And today I’m having major beauty nostalgia with the iconic beauty brand, Clinique. I’ve been a ‘Clinique girl’ for as long as I can remember. My mom used to always book appointments at the counter at Lord & Taylor to stock up on new and seasoned products. I would never let her RSVP to a Clinique event without a plus one (ahem). I’d sit next to my mom getting her makeup done by some global artist in town while I was getting my makeup done too. Sure, it took some schmoozing for her to buy me a lip gloss (or two) but she never deprived me of skincare products. She truly believed in Clinique’s 3-Step skincare philosophy and always wanted to make sure I was properly taking care of my skin. So I’m sure you can imagine when Clinique’s new and improved Dramatically Different Moisturizing Lotion+ arrived on my doorstep, I was already taking a walk down memory lane.

Its iconic buttery soft canary yellow facial lotion boasts the same silky texture and type of hydration without changing the qualities that made this product so special. So what changed? Well for starters, the Clinique team paired new formulating technology with ingredients that could promise comfort and efficacy without provoking any irritation (think a Barrier Repair Complex, made with a blend of sunflower seed cake, barley extract and cucumber fruit extract to help strengthen the skin’s barrier; and three new moisturizing ingredients such as Hyaluronic Acid, Glycerin and Urea to help improve all-day hydration). I didn’t think these four tiny additions could make that much of a difference for my skin, but it did. This is my daily go-to facial moisturizer after I cleanse in the morning and at night. I’ve always dealt with dryness in my T-zone and this easy pump-application bottle of goodness has left my skin feeling refreshed and looking translucent without any sticky or heavy residue. It’s crazy to think my favorite moisturizer growing up is still part of my daily routine. So thank you, Clinique for giving my skincare routine a much needed upgrade.
