In case you missed my annual beauty resolutions post, masking more often was #1 on my list. In an effort to not let my resolutions fall off the wayside, I’m excited to launch a brand new series on the blog, solely dedicated to masking. Once a week (or once every other week) I’m going to report on each and every mask I try. From luxe to cheapo ones, from brightening treatments to calming formulas, from under eye masks to foot masks… you get the idea. There are no boundaries with this series and I’m excited to try something new every time.
So with that, here’s the first mask I put on my face in 2016.
Boscia Sake Brightening Hydrogel Mask, $8
What it does: This two-piece mask is drenched with a high concentration of sake, antioxidants, peptides, and plant extracts combine with marine collagen to reduce hyperpigmentation and protect against free radical damage. This mask is intended to firm, tighten and brighten skin.
What it felt like: Simply put, it felt refreshingly tingly and cooling all over.
The results: Personally, I love sheet masks. Although, they can be difficult apply on the face with the risk of ripping it, this two-piece mask actually made it easier. Not only are they easy to use, but also I can always feel the product working. I wore this Boscia Brightening Mask for 20 minutes and immediately after, my skin felt firmer and smoother. It had a bit of a sticky residue so I spent a few minutes lightly patting the product in to my skin. The next day I definitely noticed my skin looked brighter but it also noticed some minor irritation along my jaw line. I’m not sure I can blame it on the mask but maybe this isn’t ideal for sensitive skin types. You can learn more about the mask here. The reviews on Sephora are 99% positive.

I love sheet masks so I might have to give this a go!

Aw, pity about the slight reaction, but otherwise this sounds good.
I love masks, So I’m excited to read about the masks you will try! This sounds good, too bad about the irritation on the jaw, hopefully it’s nothing too bad.
Have you tried any of Glossier’s masks? I love their products but since I’m not familiar with masks, I’m hesitant to try it.
Glossier masks are actually on my docket to try for this series! I’ll keep you posted! I’ve heard good thing though.
