Since moving to Columbia, I have to admit, I really miss Bethesda. I grew up in the area my entire life yet every time I come back, I still discover something new or find a hidden gem. From endless beauty and retail shops to delicious dining destinations, I’ve rounded up my favorite hot spots on Bethesda Row. Naturally, Bluemercury is first on my list…
When I need to stock up on luxe beauty products… I go to Bluemercury, the beauty retail and spa chain. I could spend hours in the store discovering and sampling new brands and splurging on old favorites.
When I’m on the hunt for the latest spring trends … Sassanova is my go-to for one-of-a-kind pieces and designer shoes. I could also spend all day at Francesca’s Closet. They have trendy clothes for a reasonable price and a nice selection of jewelry and cute accessories (like this statement cuff).
When I need a quick pick-me-up in between shopping… I grab a bite at Le Pain Quotidien, an organic bakery with fresh bread, vegetables and sweet jams. Their grilled chicken tartine with smoked mozzarella di bufala is my go-to.
When I don’t have time to wash my hair… I head to Drybar, of course! The Mai-Tai is my go-to style and I highly recommend booking an appointment with Anna Fazio! She always does an awesome job. I’m also a huge fan of their hair products. Their new Texas Tea line is put the VA-VA-VOOM in volume!
When I’m on the hunt for cute gift ideas… I head to Paper Source. I love perusing through a bevy of pretty stationery, books, crafts, and more. With Mother’s Day right around the corner, I’ll also stop at Lou Lou since they have a huge selection of stylish handbags, scarves, jewelry, and other accessories at an affordable price.
When I’m looking for home décor ideas… I go to Urban Country. Since the move, I’ve been spending all my money on furniture (sorry, fashion). I love browsing through their home décor collection and getting inspiration for decorating my apartment.
When I’ve got a sweet tooth… I get my chocolate fix at Max Brenner Chocolate Bar and treat myself to one of their delicious Choctails and Pear Sugar Waffles. Yum!
When I lose another pair of ear buds… I go to the Apple store in Bethesda. Colored headphones are at the top of my wish list right now!
When it’s been a long day at work… I head to Vino Volo and enjoy a glass of their house red wine. Vino Volo is also one of the many restaurants participating in Bethesda Row Restaurant Week April 21st-27th. I’m definitely going to take advantage of their three-course dinner menu for just $30! You can find out more about Spring Restaurant Week (and enter to win a $200 dining certificate to Vino Volo) here.
When I need some fitness inspiration (and new yoga gear)… I head to Lululemon. This is probably the only retail store I can bring my fiancé too without him complaining. He’ll patiently wait for me and offer his advice when I try on yoga pants. I wonder why… : )

I want your life! LOL My Bethesda Row experience is so different but I envy yours. Since my son attends school close by (Go Bears!) we stop in all the time especially on Fridays but we haunt Secolari – where I could spend all day sampling olive oils and vinegar’s, Barnes & Noble, the movie theater for my indie faves, always Mon Ami Gabi for the gluten free menu (best GF bread anywhere) and I have the occasional lunch with moms at Uncle Julio’s. We do have the Apple Store in common because let’s face it, who can’t spend an hour or two there building their wishlist? (Blue Mercury I love esp since they sell my Jack Black lip balm but alas, my son doesn’t let me spend too much time in there)
