Back to School with Bobbi Brown Cosmetics

Back to School with Bobbi Brown

Yesterday I was invited to a Bobbi Brown makeup class with Manager of Artistry, Marc Reagan at Nordstrom Montgomery.

For about an hour, I sat alongside a bunch of other women (of all ages) in a private setting, listening to Reagan speak about Bobbi Brown cosmetics, her philosophy and an easy step-by-step tutorial on applying skincare and makeup. Needless to say, I got a good grasp on the Bobbi Brown makeup philosophy (for those wondering, Bobbi believes all women are beautiful without makeup… yes, even Hillary Clinton!). I also realized how much I was doing wrong when applying makeup.

Here, a few tips n’ tricks from the makeup artist:

  1. Whether you use foundation or a tinted moisturizer, you only apply as needed. When you use a foundation brush, it helps blend onto your skin rather than using your fingers.
  2. Bronzer before blush, always. When applying bronzer, make sure you press color first into the palm of your hand before applying to the face. When applying blush: smile, blend onto the apple of your cheeks then back to the hairline and down the face.
  3. Apply a lip liner after applying lipstick. Reagan notes it’s easy to fill in any empty spots. Your lip liner should match your natural lip color or one shade darker.Following the class, I got a fabulous makeover and did a much needed makeup shopping spree with Bobbi Brown.

Following the class I was treated to a makeover with a top notch artist and went on a little makeup shopping spree.
