Lately my bathroom counter has been filling up with a bevy of hair products. While this week’s weather has been absolutely heavenly, most summer days in the DMV are absolutely atrocious. I’ve tested so many post-shower styling creams and sprays in my lifetime, but Living Proof’s Style Extender has been the only one to truly stand the test of time. I received this Alterna Caviar CC Cream for hair in my July Beauty Box from Neiman Marcus. Alterna Caviar CC Cream is a 10-in-1 perfector that can be used alone or cocktailed with other products. On the back of the tube, Alterna lists the ten different ways it completes hair (think moisture, shine, smoothness, softness, UV protection, manageability, strength, anti-breakage, heat protection, and light hold). To be perfectly honest I’m skeptical when it comes to multi-tasking hair products. Usually those types can be heavy in consistency and sticky. But I have to admit this one in particular proved me wrong. First of all, it smells amazing (and you know how I feel about great smelling products). It’s easy to use (just a few small pumps post-shower will keep frizz at bay). And I love that you can use it on wet or dry hair. Lately I’ve been using it on second and third day hair. Just one pump is enough to apply on the ends for a soft and shiny finish. I have naturally straight to wavy-ish hair and when I use this, I feel like it enhances my natural texture. I’m not sure I can prove I’ve seen visible changes in everything promised in their “top 10” but between the shine, softness, smoothness and manageability, it’s definitely worthy of top shelf placement.

I’ve always been rather obsessed with Alterna’s Caviar (and Caviar Rx) hair products, in my mind where from anyone else I’d be sceptical, they really, really work. And yes, it was the smell that pulled me in, too!
If you have not tried any of their others, my favourites are the Caviar shampoo and conditioner, Caviar Rx hair mask, and Caviar Rapid Repair Spray.
I received this sample in my Glossybox a couple of months ago and I love it! You’re right, the smell is absolutely amazing. I haven’t seen any crazy results, but the smell and shine are good enough for me!!
