Aquaphor Healing Ointment has been a long-time staple in my household growing up. Between ultra dry hands and terribly chapped lips, this cult skincare classic is always on my nightstand during cold weather season. To prep you for the upcoming winter (because you can never be too prepared), I’m sharing with you my top winter skincare tips.
Wash your hands and hydrate with Aquaphor’s rich ointment. The more you wash your hands without hydrating after, the drier your skin will get.
Prevent dry nose conditions by applying the moisturizer on and under your nose to protect you from redness and irritation.
Apply Aquaphor Lip Repair to soothe dry, chapped lips. I also highly recommend applying before you go to bed so you don’t wake up with cracked lips!
Drink lots and lots of water. It’s such a cliché tip but it’s the easiest way to keep your skin hydrated.
Soak hands and feet by applying Aquaphor Healing Ointment and covering up with cotton gloves and socks. I hate how dry and itchy my feet get in the winter so I usually lather my feet in the ointment and cover up with cotton socks so it can soak up all the moisturizing goodness. By the morning, my feet are ultra soft.
With 50 degree and below weather looming, there is no better time than to stock up on moisturizing lip, hand and body products. If your skin is already enduring harsh weather conditions (think cracked skin or flaky patches) then you will love this giveaway on the blog today! I’ve partnered with Aquaphor to give away the ultimate cold weather skin prep gift pack and a $50 Visa gift card. I’ll choose a random winner next Friday, November 15th.
I received a complimentary package of Aquaphor products to try for review purposes (although, I would’ve happily paid for this out of pocket because that’s how much I love this stuff). All opinions in this post are my own.
I put Aquaphor in my nose (when it’s dry and gross) and on my feet overnight!
I’m from the great white north, & my skin can get horrendously dry. I moisturize after every shower/ bath and, also, put an intense body butter on before bed. xo

Aquaphor is the best to keep you skin smoothe and hydrated during those cold winters!
Moisturize before bed.
Before bed, take a lukewarm shower, rather than an extremely hot or cold one.
Apply shea butter lotion immediately after stepping out.
Wear cotton socks to bed for soft, pampered feet.
In the winter I try not to take too hot of a shower. It’s very drying. I also put on lotion as soon as I get out of the shower.
I use more lotion on my skin than in summer time
Apply lotion right after bathing/washing hands.
During winter, I make sure to moisturize as soon as I hop out of the shower, so that my pores are still open and my skin will soak up as much moisture as possible!
I sometimes do a moisture day. I will do some leave in conditioner, put one a little body cream, vaseline my feet and put socks on. Do a sugar scrub on my face and hands and then some thick moisturizer on them, too. Perfect with a Netflix and a glass of wine for a lazy Sunday.
Moisturize after shower and moisturize your lips and take short showers in warm water
Best tip is to moisturize to prevent dry itchy skin.
Always use Chapstick
My best winter tip is keep your skin moisturized and always use sun screen on your face when out and about during the winter months too!
Keep using the sunscreen – faithfully!!!!
Stay moisturized and well hydrated 🙂
This stuff by far is the most effective and affordable way to fix my skin in these Upstate winters! Love!!
I put on lip balm and lotion before going to sleep. I also drink LOTS of water.
moisturize and always use SPF
Drink Lots Of Water To Keep Skin Hydrated And Glowing!
You still need sunscreen!
Try coconut oil – I love it.
Hydrate your skin with water.
