Battle of The Best Drugstore Concealer

About a month ago, I just finished the remainder of my NARS Creamy Concealer and while I thought about ordering a new tube, something was holding me back—my dark circles. It was actually a pretty decent formula but I wasn’t sold on the price point. A few weekends ago, I went on a little beauty spree at Ulta and instead of spending $25+ on a luxe cover-up, I decided to scoop up five drugstore brands in hopes I would discover the best drugstore concealer.

The Best Drugstore Concealer - Politics of Pretty

CoverGirl Ready, Set Gorgeous Concealer instantly brightened my under eye area and lasted a good eight-hour work day (as long as you remember to use setting powder).

Maybelline Fit Me Concealer is definitely the drugstore dupe to NARS Creamy Concealer. I love the formula and blending was seamless with my BeautyBlender and fingertips. To help brighten my eye area, I layered this with Maybelline Dream Lumi Touch Highlighting Concealer.

Revlon ColorStay Under Eye Concealer has a cool application tip but it’s not exactly easy to blend. I didn’t feel like I had much coverage anyways. Maybe it wasn’t the right shade for me.

Almay Smart Shade Concealer was my least favorite of the bunch. It didn’t do much in terms of coverage. You also have to deposit the formula on your finger (no brush or sponge applicator) so I wasn’t really a fan of that either.

So ladies, my drugstore concealer photo was taken before I picked up one more concealer (recommended by my friend Belle of Capitol Hill Style): Maybelline Age Rewind Eraser. This was extremely easy to apply thanks to its sponge applicator and goes on smoothly.

The winner: It’s a tie between CoverGirl Ready, Set Gorgeous Concealer and Maybelline Age Rewind Eraser. Both did a decent job of concealing dark circles and brightening my under eye area.
