Here’s a favorite year-end blog tradition—sharing my favorite beauty products of 2019. I discovered a bunch of new skincare, makeup and tools in 2019.
Here’s a quick recap: I spent way more money at Sephora this year than I ever have before (I now have Rouge status going into 2020). I also had Platinum status at Ulta through the end of this year but unfortunately, didn’t spend the minimum to keep that status in 2020. (It’s a shame because I think Ulta has a much better reward system.) I also became a skincare ambassador for Skincando, a luxury organic skincare company based out of DC! I was introduced to so many amazing skincare products and went on a CBD crawl/adventure in the city with a few other bloggers.
Laneige Lip Sleeping Mask: I purchased this during one of the many Sephora sales and I’ve been using it every night before I go to bed. I have the original scent, which smells like berries. When I wake up, my lips are soft and hydrated so applying a matte lipstick before work is never an issue anymore.
Skincando Wild Honey Gentle Cleanser & Hydrating Mask*: Skincando made me fall in love with luxury organic skincare. This mask also saved my skin this summer. My complexion was a mess after my car crash from hitting the airbag. This gentle cleanser helped decrease the inflammation and kept my skin from peeling every day.
MAC 217 Blending Brush: I recently upgraded some of my eye makeup brushes and now I know why every beauty vlogger on YouTube raves about MAC makeup brushes. It’s blends eyeshadow so well. I clean it every couple of days because that’s how often I use it.
Glossier FutureDew*: I’ve never owned something like this in my skincare arsenal. It’s a hybrid oil-serum that can be worn multiple ways. Personally, I like applying it to the high points of my face as a highlighter; however, it also works great when mixed with a primer or moisturizer for an extra dewy finish. This was the ultimate gift of dew in 2019 from Glossier!
Charlotte Tilbury Light Wonder Foundation: If you’re on the hunt for a foundation with light to medium coverage and a radiant finish, then this is it. Seriously, I’ve been on the hunt for something that has decent coverage but not heavy and definitely without a matte finish.
Glossier Pro Tip: I’ve never been great at applying liquid liner—especially when it comes to making sure both wings match on both eyes. Then, Glossier Pro Tip came along and it was a total game changer. I kid you not, I’ve been wearing liquid liner every single day since.
Weleda Skin Food Light Nourishing Cream: I was first introduced to Weleda earlier this year and purchased the original Skin Food Rich (known as an affordable dupe to La Mer) but it was a super thick cream. The Light Nourishing is my go-to during the cold winter months. It smells great, and it’s organic!
Undone Beauty Remy Roller*: Earlier this year I did a sponsored collaboration with Undone Beauty and it was the first time I used a facial roller. After I apply all my skincare products, I like to use this in upward motions and it feels so good! It also helps relieve any tension headaches too.
Charlotte Tilbury Pillow Talk Eyeshadow: This eyeshadow quad was definitely expensive but it was one of the best purchases I made this year. The soft shimmery pink champagne, a matte warm pink and brown and a rose gold glitter work for a subtle daytime eye or a glam date night makeup.
Wander Beauty Gold Baggage Claim Masks: In 2019, I was introduced to Wander Beauty. I kept seeing their ads on Instagram and wanted to give it a shot. Out of the handful of products I tried, I would say my favorite ended up being the Eye Baggage Claim Masks (they come in gold and rose gold). Unlike other under eye patches, these will actually stay on the entire time without moving or slipping and smooth the way for makeup.
*denotes gifted products but as always, opinions are my own.
