You know that moment when you feel like you’re forgetting something… but you just can’t put our finger on it? Lately, I’ve been experiencing that with my beauty routine. Somehow a swipe of my favorite blush or a spritz of a yummy smelling fragrance sample, suddenly just doesn’t seem like “the end” when it comes to my morning makeup. It wasn’t until I was sifting through the new arrivals at Sephora this past weekend when I realized what I was missing… setting powder! It just so happened that NARS recently launched its Light Reflecting Setting Powder (in a loose and pressed formula) and I knew I needed to try it.

This setting powder enhances makeup and extends the wear without a trace of color. It’s a translucent crystal powder that may look super white and really plain but it actually works wonders on skin (fine lines and pores optically fade), not to mention helps regulate shine throughout the day. Infused with Photochromic Technology, it diffuses and adjusts to sources of light throughout the day. You just can’t question science!

There really isn’t a big difference between the loose and pressed formula since they both do the same thing but I picked up the pressed setting powder just because I’ve been known to spill loose powders on a frequent basis. An extremely helpful sales associate at Sephora advised that I roll my powder brush across the powder instead of dabbing or swirling. I swept the powder on in an upward motion across the top of my cheeks, temples and cupid’s bow (I have no idea if these are the right places to apply but hey, that’s what trying new makeup is all about!), and I can happily report, my makeup suddenly felt complete.
