Bill of Makeup Rights: Glitter Eyeshadow

glitter smokey eye- politics of pretty

There are very few glitter eyeshadows I’m crazy about—but this L’Oreal Paris Infallible Eyeshadow in Eternal Black easily tops my list. Who would’ve thought… this drugstore gem is easy to apply and doesn’t fade or crease. I purchased this on a whim at Walmart for the sake of… well, glitter. I figured Thanksgiving would be an appropriate time to test it out. I used a dab of Laura Mercier Eye Basics (I like this primer because it conceals any discoloration around the eye) and then I used my ring finger to apply eternal black, starting from the center and blending up to the crease. I kept applying until I achieved my desired look. For a smoky effect, I applied Eyeko Skinny Eyeliner on my top and bottom lash line (I also like Rimmel London Soft Kohl Kajal Eyeliner Pencil). And don’t worry about trying to make a thin line, in fact, I prefer messy. Finally, I applied two coats of Estee Lauder’s new Sumptous Infinite Daring Length + Volume Mascara which is not out yet (but coming soon in 2014!) to complete the look. And yes,  now I have 24 tubes of mascara. What do you think?
