As I (finish) writing this blog post, it’s 10 degrees outside. Yes, 10. This morning when I left for work it was 7 degrees. I think when it’s this cold in the DMV, it’s socially acceptable to wear UGG boots out in public. Needless to say, this bitter cold weather is wreaking havoc on my face. But lucky for me, I’ve been spending my time inside, sampling facial masks to nourish my dry, flaky skin. And with that, here are five of my favorite facial masks for every skin type:
If you have dry skin: Try Fresh Creme Ancienne Ultimate Nourishing Honey Mask. After just eight minutes, any flaky skin I had before vanishes (and it hasn’t been back for a five days now) thanks to this softening formula.
If you have sensitive skin: Alchimie Forever Kantic Brightening Moisture Mask is a soft mask that just works wonders on any skin type (of course, tailored to those with sensitive skin). It smells like a fruit smoothie, so naturally I want to eat it. Nevertheless, it’s packed with blueberry to reduce any facial redness; grape extracts to protect the skin and oats and wild pansies to calm irritation. Is it a miracle worker? Yes, I think so.
If you have oily skin: Try Boscia’s Luminizing Black Mask, a detoxifying and purifying mask that draws out dirt and oil. I discovered this in a Boscia Mini Mask Medley and thought this would be perfect for those with oily skin. And a piece of advice: don’t wear this scary jet-black mask in front of your cat. It will hiss at you.
If you have mature skin: Didn’t get enough sleep the night before? Treat your face to this Lush Ayesha Fresh Face Mask for 10 minutes and turn back time (temporarily… not forever… if you find a forever formula, let me know!). Lush has quite the variety of natural facial masks so if this doesn’t tickle your fancy, I highly recommend stopping by their store and speaking with a beauty consultant.
If you have acne prone skin: I’m fascinated by face mask textures and this Bliss No ‘Zit’ Sherlock is no exception. After you mix the powder with a little water and spread it onto your face and wait for it to dry, a cool rubbery texture takes effect so you can peel it off. And in case you’re wondering, seaweed is the star ingredient that will clear your blemishes and prevent future breakouts.
What’s your favorite facial mask?
Neiman Marcus gifted me with the Fresh Honey Mask but all opinions in this post are my own.
Fresh is one of my all-time favorite beauty brands. I haven’t tried the honey mask yet but after seeing this post I’ll have to add it to the list for my next Sephora haul.
By the way, it was -2 degrees when I woke up today in Louisville! My skin is also freaking out…not good! Here’s hoping it warms up soon 🙂

^for my post about Fresh
Fresh is one of my favorite brands too!! Trust me, you will love the honey mask! I also like that you can use it more than twice a week.
Stay warm!!

I recently discovered and love love love the Origins Charcoal Mask. Its worth checking out!
Hope you’re staying warm. It is fuh-reeznig here! Temperatures that prompt Uggs in public is far too cold in my book 🙂
Thanks so much for the recommendation, Nicole and thanks for reading!
