The Best Lip Gloss for Every Budget

Best lip gloss for every budget - Politics of Pretty

Last year it was all about the matte lip, but now I’m obsessing over a glossy glass-like finish. It’s been taking up serious real estate in my makeup bag and I want to share with you what I’ve found to be the best lip gloss for every budget. Whether you’re ready to splurge on a must-have or are watching your pennies, I’ve got the gloss for you!

$20 & up:

If you frequent this blog, then you know I’ve been a fan of Buxom Full-On Lip Cream, which has a cool tingling sensation and a mild plumping effect. I seriously own multiple tubes because I love rotating different shades for work and weekend. In this post I’m wearing Sangria, but I also love Bellini and Berry Blast.

One shade, two words: Turkish Delight. I’m obsessed with this pinky sherbert shade by NARS and yes, it’s a whopping $26 but it fades evenly so I never have to worry about what I look like when I’m noshing on my lunch at work.

$15 & under:

Last year I went on a Kylie Cosmetics haul. I only use a couple products to this day and one of them is Kylie Gloss in So Cute (a pale beige). I’m impressed with the saturated application and if I layer one of her lip liners underneath, my lips appear slightly fuller.

Sometimes a simple clear lip gloss is all you need. I first discovered this one by Glossier when I splurged on their Black Tie Box before the holidays. I carry this tiny tube with me everywhere and when I’m going from desk to drinks, I can spruce up my look with a shiny coat. As a Glossier rep, my link can give you 20% off your first order and free shipping over $30.

I’ve been devoted to this drugstore steal for years—L’Oreal Colour Riche Le Gloss is infused with vitamin E and Argan Oil, two ingredients that give my pout soft and shiny lips. It’s the perfect lightweight gloss to carry you through those hot and humid summer days, and did I mention no sticky lips? Of course I can’t find my favorite shade online (Watermelon Crush) but Red Ravishing looks like a nice alternative.

What’s your favorite lip gloss? I’d love to hear your thoughts in the comments!
