The product: Revlon Colorburst Lip Butter
I’ve been eyeing this lip product for some time now and if you saw my little bio in the DC Scout newsletter, then you know Emma Stone is my celeb beauty muse. I mean, her lips look utterly hydrated and glossed in gorgeous color and my first thought was, I want my lips to look like that!
This lip butter is supposed to be a mix between a nourishing lip balm and shiny color, made with mango, shea and coconut butter formula to help lip moisture. I’ve tried other tinted lip balms but in all actuality, they’ve never really left me with enough to color for it to pass as a lipstick. I tried Revlon’s lip butter in “cupcake,” a pretty true pink, and while it does feel like butter on your lips, the finish is more shimmer than I expected. I like that this balm leaves more color than most tinted tubes. While the color is pretty, because of a natural rosy tint on my lips, I like muting my lips with an eyelid primer before applying so that you see more color from the lip butter rather than my natural hue.
The verdict: If you have a fetish for lip products then you’ll love this product. If you don’t own a tinted lip balm, I recommend starting with Revlon.
