Snowzilla skin essentials - Politics of Pretty

The 2016 Snowzilla has been a blessing and a curse. I’ve been cooped up in a tiny apartment for the last five days and I think it’s safe to say I’ve got a case of Cabin Fever. On the bright side, this blizzard has given my skin some much-needed TLC. I haven’t worn makeup since Thursday. I haven’t had to put on a bra. I’ve only cleansed, masked and hydrated my face all weekend. I’ve been able to indulge in a warm shower for more than 10 minutes. Beauty-wise it’s been wonderful! And with that, my Snowzilla skin essentials:

I had the opportunity to try Glossier’s new Milky Jelly Cleanser this past weekend and I was pretty impressed with how clean and soft my skin felt. You can use it on dry skin to remove makeup or as a daily cleanser. I followed up with my all-time favorite moisturizer, Glossier Priming Moisturizer, and my skin felt uber soft and supple for the remainder of the day. I indulged in a 20 minute Fresh Black Tea Instant Perfecting Mask—I love the creamy consistency and that warm cool, tingly feeling when I rinse it off.

As for lip care… during the day I’ve been applying Glossier Balm Dotcom. I’m desperate to try their Coconut Balm Dotcom because I love the original so much and could use a hint of flavor. By the way, notice a trend here? Glossier’s Phase 1 Set is taking over my beauty cabinet! Before I go to bed I swipe Orlane Magnificent Lip Balm—it has a sweet, fruity scent and keeps my lips hydrated through the night, because waking up with chapped lips is the WORST feeling. Library of Flowers is my go-to hand cream. The Forget Me Not Coco Butter smells amazing and just a small dab goes a long way. It comes in a cute little tin that I still use to hold my assortment of beauty products.

Did you get hit with storm Jonas? What beauty products have you come to rely on during Snowzilla and its aftermath?
